Franklin has given 12 years’ of service to the carnival as an Eastern Eyre selector and trainer and, 10 years as an EP under 15 trainer.

Franklin has given much of his time and energy and travelled many hundreds of kilometres to support junior and senior football on Eyre Peninsula and deserved the award according to Western Zone Junior Council chairperson John Southern who, along with Port Magpies representative Colin Elson, presented Franklin with his award.
