Digital revolution reaches Eyre Peninsula

THREE Eyre Peninsula Schools will collectively receive 72 computers to make them more technologically savvy.

Cummins Area School will receive 45, Cowell Area School 20 and Port Lincoln Special School seven.

Port Lincoln Special School will receive six laptops and a server.

Under the Federal Government’s Digital Education Revolution, it has provided grants of $1000 per computer to improve the computer-to-student ratio from 1:8 or more, to 1:2.

The National Secondary School Computer Fund aims to ensure more students in Years 9-12 have better access to technology.

Applications for round two are expected to open on July 14, with schools able to receive up to $1 million.
